Beauty Confidence Style & Satisfaction

Age related effects on the skin, cause it to lose its elasticity contributing to the formation of wrinkles, frown lines and skin folds. These effects are unfortunately exaggerated by smoking, significant and cumulative exposure to the sun.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a natural compound present in all living organisms. HA products have been developed as an alternative to collagen and when injected into the skin they can temporarily smooth out wrinkles and folds, and even fill out areas in the face such as the lips and the cheeks. This can produce a more youthful and sensuous appearance. David Mowatt uses the HA fillers "Restylane" and "Juvaderm." omit "the latter of which contains a local anaesthetic and has been reported to last longer."

The filler is injected directly into the deep layer of the skin at the site of the wrinkle using a very small needle. Alternatively, depending upon the area and the effect to be achieved, it may also be injected just underneath the skin when performing facial contour and lip enhancement. Depending on the area to be treated, several injections are usually needed at specific sites. Localised discomfort and bruises can occur and if injections are given in the lips, then pre-filler local anaesthetic injections are sometimes required. The effects are long-lasting (9-12 months) but not permanent. Other fillers such as Polylactic acid (PLLA) (Sculptra) or Calciumhydroxyapatite (Radiesse) which may be suitable and are longer lasting than HA, may be appropriate and will be discussed during your consultation.
